Slipped and failing Yorkshire stone slates

A lot of Bradford's older terraced stock still carries original Yorkshire stone slate, or a mixed roof where some slates have been replaced with concrete tile over the years. Stone slates are heavy and hung on timber battens with nibs or pegs that can wear or corrode over decades, letting individual slates slip out of place.
